Bravia House is the result of the renovation and extension of a traditional 1980s dwelling located in the Sierra de Altea, where the project is approached with respect for the original building, reinterpreting its volumes to adapt it to a new way of living that is more open, brighter, and more closely linked to the landscape. The intervention completely reorganizes the program and takes advantage of the plot’s natural slope to distribute the house over different levels connected by outdoor spaces.

The project concentrates the main program on the upper floor, where the daytime rooms and bedrooms are located in search of the best views and the strongest relationship with the surroundings. On this level, the interior spaces open onto large terraces through generous glazed openings, creating visual continuity with the landscape and allowing natural light to flow through the entire house.

The leisure spaces are located on the lower floor, with the swimming pool and a wine cellar directly connected to the exterior, taking advantage of the site’s level change to create a more sheltered and private setting. This arrangement allows each level to have its own relationship with the garden, generating different atmospheres depending on use and time of day.

Between both levels appears the project’s most representative feature: the large intermediate pergola-covered terrace, conceived as the true heart of the house. This covered space acts as a transition between interior and exterior, providing shade, ventilation, and a protected place to stay, designed to enjoy the climate throughout the year. The pergola and porches reinforce the horizontal nature of the whole and help integrate the house into the hillside.

Bravia is an intervention that combines rehabilitation and contemporary architecture, where adaptation to the terrain, recovery of the existing building, and the incorporation of new outdoor spaces result in a renewed, warm home fully integrated into the landscape of the Sierra de Altea.
